Product Description

Prevue Pet Products Mimic Me Voice-Recording Unit 62900 helps bird owners teach their pet new words and phrases, in their own true voice. Recording, and playing back, words and phrases in your own voice will help teach your bird to mimic, or talk. You'll love the connection and your bird will love the attention! Birds are social creatures and desire the opportunity to interact. Speaking birds already mimic sounds they hear regularly; the more language they are exposed to, the more they will learn to talk! Mimic Me has been engineered for high quality sound and is very easy to use, assisting you in teaching your bird new words and phrases through repitition. Simply record your message and press Play - the recording will play back your words, phrases or brief songs (up to 10 seconds long) in one of two repetition modes. Messages can be different for either of the two modes, and can be recorded over repeatedly. Mode A will play your recorded message 12 times, then stop. It will repeat your message 12 times, every 15 minutes, until Mimic Me is switched off. Mode B will play your recorded message 12 times, then stop. It will repeat your message 12 times, every 10 minutes, for two hours. This product has been designed to be a professional tool to enhance the learning experience of your bird, please note this is not a toy. Do not place Prevue Pet Products Mimic Me Voice-Recording Unit 62900 inside your bird's cage or leave it where your bird can get at it. This is a training device. Three AAA batteries are included.

    The sound quality is excellent and it is very simple to operate. It's also battery operated, which are included. A well made, high quality device that has a more than good chance of getting your particular bird mimicking whatever you wish.

    The potential behind this little recording device is terrific. Record your own voice once (up to 10 seconds duration) and set it to play back and it:
    (a) plays your recorded message 12 times, stops and then repeats the message 12 times every 15 mins until you turn off the machine or the batteries run out;
    (b) plays your message 12 times, stops, then repeats message 12 times every 10 mins for 2 hours. It then stops for one hour and then plays your message once to remind you to turn off the machine.

    It's simplicity itself to use and would have been awarded 5 stars

    However:-

    My product, when received, would, unfortunately, only play back once. The instructions are so simple to follow, it's impossible to make an error (unless, like me you accidentally push the switch to the 'off' position in error). I lost count of how many times I removed the batteries, re-inserted them, changed them etc, but to no avail, the device would only repeat that I was a 'pretty boy' once instead of the 12 times my ego was expecting.

    *** I received my device through the Amazon Vine programme where members receive goods for review purposes only and it may be that I had received a pre-release one that had not gone through final inspection. However, I can only base my review on what I have in my hands and that, I'm afraid is a one-star item.
